LONG STORY SHORT is a new musical with music, lyrics and book by Brendan Milburn and Valerie Vigoda, based on the play “An Infinite Ache” by David Schulner. This searing new musical is from the amazing creators of TRW’s New Year’s Eve musical sensation STRIKING 12. LONG STORY SHORT is a two-actor show, with a four-piece band that covers a romance and 50-year marriage in 98 minutes and 17 songs. Originally commissioned by City Theatre of Pittsburgh and co-produced in its world premiere by TheatreWorks Palo Alto, LONG STORY SHORT was also produced at San Diego Rep. It has been described as a “roller-coaster romance from the creators of the STRIKING 12, this charming pop musical transcends two twenty-somethings’ disastrous first date to whirl, for better or worse, into a lifetime of love. This funny, frazzled couple careens from new-found desire to old-time commitment, reckoning along the way the costs, the compromises, and the enduring promise of an affair you will always remember – a passion you won’t soon forget.”
Long Story Short was developed at City Theatre during its MOMENTUM festival in 2007 and 2008, and at TheatreWorks as part of its New Works Initiative. The production is supported in part by grants from the Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.

From the prolific pens of Joe DiPietro (ALL SHOOK UP, MEMPHIS, I LOVE YOU YOU’RE PERFECT NOW CHANGE), David Howard (Galaxy Quest, CHANGING MINDS) and Bret Simmons (CHANGING MINDS, The Megan Mullally Show), comes an irresistible tale as old as time…FALLING FOR EVE. This delightful new musical is a sure-fire hit for theatres everywhere! A new take on the Creation of the Earth, FALLING FOR EVE has a bright, tight and very upbeat pop-musical theatre score matched with a very innovative book’s look at Adam, Eve, God and the Garden.
FALLING FOR EVE begins…at the very beginning. (It’s a very good place to start!) Creation is going exactly according to plan: Eve, curious about what lies beyond the garden, and positively perplexed with the idea of something that’s forbidden, eats the apple. Then Adam…doesn’t. Eden, we have a problem. How exactly God is going to get his children together so they can create the human race is anybody’s guess. At times hilarious, at times poignant, FALLING FOR EVE is an unconventional retelling of the world’s first love story. Filled with unexpected twists and turns, the first couple doesn’t get to happily ever after until they finally realize that paradise isn’t a place at all. As Adam ultimately tells Eve, “Paradise is You.”
TRW is championing new titles like FALLING FOR EVE to provide opportunities for Artistic Directors at every level and in every region to challenge and delight their local patrons with exciting new work. This show can provide a fresh new Off-Broadway title as a regional premiere for your theatre’s next season. FALLING FOR EVE is a chance to bring a vital new title to your area. Your community will thank you for the invigorating opportunities to create new interaction with your audience. Bringing new work to your theatre can be a great way to bolster your Grant writing as well.
To get rolling, order a PerusalsNOW™ reading copy of FALLING FOR EVE and begin to cast it in your mind’s eye. With the original New York cast, these casting choices were made: ADAM: The first guy. As young as possible (late teens, early twenties.) Very attractive. EVE: The first girl. Also as young as possible, but able to gracefully and believably age to about forty through the course of the play. Also beautiful. GOD/HE: A man. GOD/SHE: A woman. SARAH: An angel. Young woman. MICHAEL: Another angel. As young as the others. While the show works very well vocally with the six vocalists described above, should the producers desire, the addition of an “angel chorus” to back up vocals and facilitate the production is also a possibility, and can offer additional performance opportunities and a bigger, more “celestial” sound.
Fresh from an Off-Broadway stand at the York Theatre in NYC, TRW is proud to begin Stock and Amateur licensing of FALLING FOR EVE worldwide!

Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) is proud to announce a much-anticipated new acquisition: GAME SHOW. Based on an idea by producer Jeffrey Finn (AMERICAN IDIOT, A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE) and written by Jeffrey Finn and Bob Walton (MIDLIFE: THE CRISIS MUSICAL), GAME SHOW is a one-of-a-kind theatre experience that had a hugely successful run in New York, earning rave reviews, including this from the New York Times: “Game Show is a funny new comedy and lots of fun! It’s a cross between a quiz program and “Survivor” with more plot twists than you’ll see in a year of soaps! The surprise of the new season!” And The New York Daily News gushed, “Funny, Clever, and Totally Enjoyable! GAME SHOW works on two levels: As a scripted comedy and as an actual trivia contest that uses audience members as contestants. It will surprise and delight!”
This hot new title is takes on the game show phenomenon, inviting your audience into a refreshingly fun new theatre experience. Set during a “live broadcast” of a fictional, long-running TV game show, GAME SHOW places the theater audience in the role of the TV studio audience, in which members are picked as the contestants to play the trivia-based game and win actual prizes! In addition to watching and playing during the “broadcast” – where anything can and does happen – the audience also witnesses all the backstage, back-stabbing antics “behind the scenes” that go on during the “commercial breaks” of the show.
GAME SHOW is a natural title for community and professional theatre seasons. It offers your patrons a chance to join in the fun and presents a host of not-so-subtle opportunities for sponsorships that can feature your local business partners. And your actors will find sheer delight in sinking their teeth into these delicious roles!
GAME SHOW hasn’t just charmed the notoriously hard to please NYC critics. Entertainment Weekly raved, “Winning! Limitless laughs!” And, Robert Trussell’s Kansas City Star review of The New Theatre’s November, 2011 production is typical of the kind of accolades this sassy new show garners: “…a show full of hidden jokes and multiple surprises, some of which are so effective that I dare not give them away. Suffice to say the show delights in teasing the audience and toying with the boundary between illusion and reality.”
TRW’s GAME SHOW license comes complete with a CD containing the GAME SHOW Theme Song and all SFX.
