November 29, 2016 is quickly approaching, and now is the time to start preparing for one of the largest fundraising days in the world. If you are unfamiliar with Giving Tuesday, I refer you to our previous article HERE. Below are some last minute tips for capturing your donor audience.
Create an Event
If you have a Facebook page for your non-profit organization, create a Facebook event for Giving Tuesday to let your followers know in advance. To download an event banner for Facebook, click HERE.
Start Promoting Yesterday
It is never too early to start promoting Giving Tuesday. I recommend sharing reminders on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to get your followers excited. Have a dedicated group of volunteers? Ask them to join in the promoting as well. You can download social media posts to get your followers excited HERE.
Create a Mobile Plan
In this day and age, it is important to consider the ‘customer journey,’ or what will the customer experience when they click on a link from a Facebook post or email. With the rise of mobile devices, you should consider if your customer journey is mobile friendly. To test this, open up the donations page on your website using your phone. If you have to zoom in to view it, or worse, it doesn’t work at all, you need to find a better mobile solution. There are many companies that can solve this for you. I recommend checking out Paypal’s Giving Fund.
