BARE is, at its heart, an operatic love story. A group of high school seniors at a Catholic boarding school faces issues of sexuality and personal identity. As they struggle to come to terms with who they are, and who the world thinks they should be, they seek answers from their Church, their friends, and ultimately, from within themselves. Its rich, vibrant score draws on many styles of contemporary music.

This intense, tension-filled journey, told with a pop/rock score, follows roommates and clandestine lovers, Jason and Peter, and four other friends through their trials and tribulations at a Catholic boarding school. Dealing with issues of body image, sexual identity, adult expectations, and religion, these 17-year-olds attempt to navigate their way through adolescence.
