Broadway in the Hood is a national theatre program with its home office in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their current production of THE COLOR PURPLE is a star-studded theatrical event with a host of Las Vegas’ best talent turning in memorable performances in the musical version of the beloved novel and film. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, the 40-person cast of valley residents and special guests includes Bubba Knight from Gladys Knight & the Pips and Gospel singer Lecresia Campbell, who are set to perform in the four show run, closing this weekend on August 26th, 2012, at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

It was nominated for eleven 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score.
