Our Favorite Broadway Artwork

Justin “Squigs” Robertson is one of our favorites; creating splashy and fun theatrical illustrations for the Broadway and theatre community. Squigs brings a caricature quality to his pieces and this, married with his playful use of color, makes for some of the most stimulating art pieces around. Below is a sampling of some of our favorites that he has done for some of our titles.

 

1. Jersey Boys

This piece marked the 10th Anniversary of the Broadway production of Jersey Boys at the August Wilson Theatre. The show is set to close in January 2017, concluding it’s record breaking run.

 

2. Big Fish

Featuring Norbert Leo Butz, Kate Baldwin and Bobby Steggert, this Big Fish piece was created for the opening of the Broadway production in the fall of 2013 at the Neil Simon Theatre.

 

3. Memphis

Squigs made a return visit to the Broadway production of Memphis when Adam Pascal assumed the role of Huey Calhoun, opposite original leading lady Montego Glover at the Sam S. Shubert Theatre.

 

4. The Addams Family

When The Addams Family was still tearing up the graveyard at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, this piece was created to celebrate new stars Brooke Shields as Morticia and the late Roger Rees as Gomez.

 

5. Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Will Swenson, Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams hop aboard Priscilla in this colorful piece for the Broadway production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which played the legendary Palace Theatre.

 

6. The Color Purple

2016 Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo, Jennifer Hudson and Danielle Brooks are featured in this piece for the revival of The Color Purple, currently running at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

 

7. Ghost the Musical

Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Bryce Pinkham, Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy bring two worlds together in this piece for Ghost the Musical, which played Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in 2012.
