The new, 70 minute, Theatre for Young Audiences version of Henry Krieger, Bill Russell and Jeffrey Hatcher’s LUCKY DUCK opened Friday evening (6/25/2010) at The Coterie Theatre in Kansas City to stellar reviews and a very enthusiastic sold-out house. The show captured the hearts of the all-ages audience with a simply superb production directed by the Coterie’s Artistic Director Jeff Church.
The team of authors have been in KC working on this sparkling new edit of the musical and were beaming with pride as the story rollicked and rolled over the Coterie’s beautiful stage. This is the definitive LUCKY DUCK and Theatrical Rights Worldwide will be assembling the new script and score to be available to theatres worldwide later this year.
LUCKY DUCK is now positioned to be a mainstay of the exploding Theatre for Young Audiences market. The hallmarks of mega-hits in this genre are world-class script, score and lyrics combined with a keen sense of what works for adults, teens and the younger set in one delightful package. LUCKY DUCK has all of these and more. Stay tuned to www.theatricalrights.com for the release of this brand new LUCKY DUCK that will be THE show to produce on your Theatre for Young Audiences season.
