George Luton

George Luton is an internationally-recognized musical theatre composer and arranger from New York City, where their work has been heard at the Off-Broadway York Theatre (More Than This World), Prospect Musicals (The Oath), Theatre Now (Moon Illusion, Roommate Horror Story), Off the Lane (Truth Dare or Lesbian), the Tank NYC (Alice, Of Sleepless Nights), Balance Arts (PreScripted), and Lincoln Center (Helen & Cassandra: Gifts of the Gods, Face to Face), where they were awarded the Across a Crowded Room artistic fellowship through the NYPL Library of the Performing Arts. Favorite regional premieres include productions at Stage 284 (Earhart, Stiltskin), Moonlight Productions (Nottingham: The Legend of Robin Hood), Island Theatre Workshop (Boots, The Untold Story of Treasure Island), and In Vivo Productions (The Conditions of Readiness, Face Work). Their compositions have been acclaimed as “glorious, harmonic, rousing, singable, and memorable. The only question to be answered is which song you will be singing when you leave the theater.” (BWW NewsDesk) Arrangement and orchestration credits include Poupelle of Chimneytown (Signature Theatre), The Hula-Hoopin’ Queen (Theatre Row), and the Amazon Prime show Hazbin Hotel (A24 Productions). George is an alumn of the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Workshop (Miss March) and a member of both the advanced BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Workshop (The Picture of Dorian Gray) and the inaugural cohort of the TRW Collective.
