Steve Rosen

Steve Rosen is  presently writing (with Gordon Greenberg)  the stage musical adaptation of the Universal film The Secret of My Success, world-premiering at the Paramount Theater in February 2020. He and Greenberg have also written Ebenezer Scrooge’s BIG Christmas Show, a comedic retelling of A Christmas Carol which has become a yearly tradition at the Bucks County Playhouse and The Old Globe. Rosen and Greenberg have also penned Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, a farcical five-person comedic retelling of the classic horror story which premiered recently at the Maltz Jupiter Theater. Rosen has also worked extensively as a performer on stage and screen. He currently plays recurring roles on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU, Fox’s The Resident and has been nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his performance in THE OTHER JOSH COHEN as well as a Lucille Lortel Award for his performance in Pretty Filthy for The Civilians. He also originated principal roles in the original Broadway companies of MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT, Aaron Sorkin’s The Farnsworth Invention and the 2009 revival of Guys & Dolls.
 
With David Rossmer, he co-wrote the book, music and lyrics for THE OTHER JOSH COHEN, a NY Times Critic’s Pick nominated for six Drama Desk Awards (including Outstanding Musical, Book, Music and Lyrics) and a Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical. The show began at NYMF, moved to a not-for-profit run at the Soho Playhouse, then on to sold-out runs at the 1500 seat Paper Mill Playhouse, the Geva Theatre and most recently a critically acclaimed Off-Broadway commercial production at the Westside Theatre in NYC, twice extended. Rosen and Rossmer were recently hired to write the next chapter of the National Lampoon Vacation series — Broadway Vacation, a Broadway musical about the Griswolds in New York City. Rossmer and Rosen are co-creators, writers and hosts of the comedy improv variety show Don’t Quit Your Night Job, which began at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theatre and migrated to a successful commercial production Off-Broadway. For Don’t Quit, Rosen and Rossmer wrote special material for the likes of Sting, Sutton Foster, Hank Azaria, David Hyde Pierce, Julianna Margulies and Lin-Manuel Miranda, to name a few. Their TV show Get In, Get Out is being developed by Radical Media.
