Synopsis
When Jessica, an impressionable freshman, joins the tuba section of the marching band at a major football university in Texas, she is forced to confront her identity as a non-Spanish speaking latina. She and her newfound family of ragtag tuba players, on the precipice of entering the “real world,” explore their perceived identities, created identities, and forced identities through the lens of the tuba section—the most identifiable group in the marching band.

ELLE — Female, 23, White. Currently in the process of outgrowing her current life, but is unsure what her next steps look like.
HECTOR — Male, 21/22, Hispanic. Must be a native Spanish speaker. Kind but misunderstood. Does not like being told no.
TY — Male 21/22, Hispanic. Should be a native Spanish speaker. Extremely “in the moment”. Sensitive and deeply caring.
WYATT — Male, 23, any ethnicity. Ambitious, well intended, but gets in his own way.

Each scene takes place on a game day, spanning a full football season. Present day.
