John August with the Northeast Alabama Community College production of BIG FISH

Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, BIG FISH centers on Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to its fullest… and then some! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him – most of all, his devoted wife Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales. Now available in both a Small Cast and School Edition.

John August speaking with body micTestimonials:

“It was a true pleasure to have Daniel Wallace at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center in Midland, PA for our opening weekend of Big Fish!   The energy and excitement he brought to the cast, staff, and students was incredible.   Daniel spoke with all of the students of the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, and provided them with a wonderful understanding of how he became an author, how Big Fish came to be, and other insightful (and comedic) anecdotes about his career path.  Our patrons enjoyed the VIP Receptions and Q&A sessions – and really felt a genuine connection to not only Daniel, but to the story as a whole.  I would truly recommend that anyone with an interest in Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions, Big Fish the movie, or BIG FISH the musical take the time to reach out to Daniel, invite him to your theater, and listen to him speak.   We here at Lincoln Park feel honored to have made a new friend, and to have had the chance to bring BIG FISH to life on our stage.”

“When our theatre performed BIG FISH, we invited Daniel Wallace to campus for the production as well as a speaker to coincide with the campus read of the novel. BIG FISH has a magical quality to it and so does Daniel Wallace. I do not know when I have met a more genuine person who has a way of making everyone he meets feel special.  Faculty and students alike were awed by his charm and quick wit, but most importantly, he is a natural with students. When he is on a college campus talking about his craft, he is in his element.”
